Pandrol NABLA Tram

The NABLA TRAM fastening system comprises a plastic baseplate and Nabla Evolution components and is suitable for CEN category A tracks, particularly Tram tracks.

Combining ease of application with high performance levels, it is compatible with several track-laying methods. Top Down/Bottom Up automatic construction methods can be used depending on the specific needs of each project. The Nabla Tram baseplate is designed to allow effective insertion into a dry mix of fresh concrete thanks to an air evacuation system consisting of blow holes and channels.

Baseplates can be installed by innovative slab track construction techniques into fresh dry concrete. Nabla Tram is also suitable for top down wet pour method. Special air evacuation system avoids air getting trapped under the baseplate.

  • The Nabla Tram system features a lightweight plastic baseplate which allows cost effective construction for Trams and Light Rail systems and is compliant with EN 13481-5:2012 CAT A Track. Because the baseplate are plastic the system has an inherently high level of electrical insulation. The special GS dowel has been designed specifically for insertion into fresh concrete and is able to transfer load to the concrete more efficiently. Soft and stiff variants are available, typically 35 kN/mm (soft) 150 kN/mm (stiff).

  • The Nabla Tram System is suitable for use in Tram tracks, compliant with EN 13481-5:2012 CAT A Track.

    The system can also be used in conjunction with the Pandrol CDM F-Track which can be supplied as an integrated system together with embedded rail rubber profiles and Nabla Tram baseplates. For this system refer to  Pandrol CDM Track.

    For embedded rail systems protective covers are provided, for open track systems the system can be deployed without covers.

    A minimal level of adjustment is provided, typically +/- 7.5 mm per rail (lateral) and -2/+3 mm (vertical). For additional adjustment contact Pandrol.

  • The Nabla Tram system is suitable for LRT Tracks up to 13 Tonnes axle loads compliant with EN 13481-5:2012 CAT A Track. For CAT B tracks (axle loads up to 18 Tonnes, radius 80 m minimum) refer to SEE:SD and DEE:SD product pages for plastic baseplate products.
